Ahead foundation is working for promoting people’s dignity through economic development, participation and equality by utilizing the potentials of the poor, especially women, children and the handicapped, Ahead Foundation is dedicated to ensuring poor people’s access to services for better life and livelihoods establishing justice, good governance and eco-friendly atmosphere for all.
Goal and objectives of the organization
Goal: Improved Living standards and establish rights of the poor people towards are achieving National Developmental Goals.
Objectives: The major objectives of the Ahead Foundation are to-
- Raise social awareness build capacity and develop skills in human resources.
- Creat Employment opportunities, income generation and improve livelihoods.
- Enhance poor people’s participation in development initiatives.
- Strengthen the capacity of civil societies, CBO and UP in planning and management.
- Enhance poor people’s resilience capacity to cope with local disasters.
- Increase poor people’s access to basic rights, information and services.
- Provide advocacy and legal support to poor distressed women.
- Promote human rights, good governance and gender equality practices.
Background of the organization:
Ahead Foundation is a non-profit and non-political voluntary development organization that formally came into being in 2009 and obtained registration with the department Register of Joint Stock Companies & Firms, Bangladesh. It is founded and run by a group of dedicated social workers, committed professionals, multi-disciplinary experts and representatives of the target groups.
Ahead Foundation started its functioning in a remote Shibgonj, District Chapai Nawabganj The area is also characterized by acute poverty, malnutrition, lack of literacy, floods, river erosion, and loss of habitat and a decrease in agricultural land by recurring floods and another area Barendro.
The key objective of and Ahead Foundation is to strengthen the capacity of the targeted project participant (beneficiaries) and create scope for bringing them into the mainstream of development. At present Ahead Foundation has been implementing several different programmes/ projects and its working area covers Shibgonj, Chapai Nawabganj.
Ahead Foundation always gives emphasizes human rights, good governance, gender equality, felicitations, social awareness and charity programmes Ahead Foundation has become the symbol of hope for the poor people it serves and hopes to continue this works as long as it is needed.
Target People:
The target people, Ahead Foundation has been committed to working with consist farmers both male and female especially helpless women, widows and divor oppressed, the landless or small landholder on which they cultivate. Besides, people occupations such as fishermen, poor brilliant students, elderly people, and rickshaw small traders also are the target people of the organization.
Principles
The basic principles of Ahead Foundation are participation, accountability, transparency, commitment, professionalism, networking, and sustainability.
Ahead Foundation also believes that access to information and public services is the basic right of all people in the community.
